Dr. Abhijit Taraphder is a well?recognized Nephrologist based in Kolkata with 42 years of extensive professional experience. His specialization includes common conditions like Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs), Kidney Stones, and Kidney Failure to more complex issues such as Renal Biopsy, Laparoscopic Nephrectomy, Glomerular Disease, Hemodiafiltration (HDF), and Ureteroscopy (URS), He obtained his MBBS and MD in General Medicine from Calcutta Medical Coll. in 1982 and 1986. He then honed his skills in kidney disorders by pursuing a DM in Nephrology from the Postgraduate Inst. of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh in 1991. Dr. Abhijit was also awarded a WHO Fellowship at the Univ. of Minnesota, USA, in 1995. It helped him enhance his specialization in the field. He holds teaching positions at IPGME&R Kolkata and has served as an examiner and thesis adjudicator at several institutions nationwide. Actively involved in various prominent organizations, Dr. Taraphder contributes to the Scientific Committee of the Indian Society of Nephrology and serves on the Core Group responsible for establishing dialysis quality standards in India. He also lends his expertise to faculty selection and promotion at SGPGI, Lucknow, showcasing his commitment to advancing medical education and research. With over four decades of professional experience and knowledge, Dr. Abhijit evaluates his patients' medical history and symptoms and performs specific diagnostic tests to create a tailored treatment plan. His treatment plans include prescribing medication, performing surgeries when necessary, and recommending lifestyle changes to improve patient health. Dr. Abhijit's goal is always to improve his patient's quality of life by ensuring they return to healthy lives.
