About Us

Dr. Birbala Rai is a widely experienced Gynecologist & Laparoscopic Surgeon with an professional experience of more than 41 years. Her particular interest includes Hysteroscopic surgery, Ultrasound-guided procedures (Ovarian Cyst Aspirations and Medical Terminations of Pregnancies and IUI), and Pregnancy Care, with a special interest in High-Risk Pregnancy, especially those complicated with Gastro, Renal, and Liver problems in pregnancy, Menopause, and Urogynae problems and Osteoporosis, etc. She was instrumental in starting the Gynaecology Department at PSRI Hosp. and nurtured it to a level where all gynecologic, laparoscopic, and hysteroscopic surgeries are now being performed. She achieved both her MBBS and MS (Obstetrics and Gynecology) from Jabalpur Univ. in 1977 and 1980, respectively. Dr. Rai has done basic and advanced Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy advanced training in Mumbai and Delhi. She is an active part of associations such as FOGSI, AOGD, NARCH, DMA, and IMA-SBD.
