About Us

Dr. K Prakash is a well?recognized and skilled Surgical Gastroenterologist in Kerala. With more than 25 years of thriving professional experience, he received advanced training from top institutions in Europe and India. Dr. Prakash focuses on complex hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgeries, along with advanced laparoscopic procedures. His educational journey includes an MBBS from the Univ. of Calicut and an MS (Surgery) from Medical Coll., Baroda. After this, he completed his MCh in Surgical Gastroenterology from Medical Coll. Trivandrum in 1998 Dr. Prakash further honed his skills with AFSA (Attestation de Formation Specialisee Approfondie) at the Univ. of Pierre et Curie, Paris. He underwent specialized advanced training, including a practical workshop and animal lab in Microvascular surgery at the Ethicon advanced training Centre in Chennai. Dr. Prakash also completed a certification course in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery at Kyungpook National Univ., Taegy, South Korea. With a remarkable track record, he has successfully performed over 16,000 open GI Surgery procedures and over 5,000 GI Laparoscopic procedures. Dr. Prakash's unit holds a notable achievement for the highest number of colonic and rectal resections for both benign lesions and cancer in the state. Pioneering advanced techniques, he became the first surgeon in Kerala to perform single-incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy and single-incision laparoscopic colorectal resection.
