• Dr. Kamini A. Rao is one of India's best Gynecologists and IVF Specialists.
• She has over 47 years of experience in treating various gynecological disorders and assisted reproductive technology.
• Her areas of expertise include infertility, assisted reproduction techniques, andrology, uterine abnormalities and their management, reproductive and child health, genetics and fetal medicine, prenatal diagnosis, fetal surgery, and molecular biology.
• Throughout her outstanding career in reproductive medicine, Dr. Kamini Rao has specialized in reproductive endocrinology, ovarian physiology, and assisted reproductive technology.
• Dr. Rao was awarded the prestigious Padma Shri in 2014 and has received numerous other honors, including the Karnataka State Award, Vidya Ratan Award, and lifetime achievement honors from various medical associations.
• Her early achievements include:
  • Pioneering India's first SIFT (Semen Intra Fallopian Transfer) baby.
  • Overseeing the birth of South India's first baby through ICSI with micromanipulation technique.
  • South India's' first baby through laser-assisted hatching.
  • South India's third Gamete Intra Fallopian Transfer (GIFT) baby.
  • Establishing the first-of-its-kind Semen and Cryo Bank in South India.
  • Setting up the first Infertility Clinic in India to be awarded the NABL certification.
• Dr. Kamini Rao completed her MBBS and DGO (Diploma in Gynaecology and Obstetrics) at Bangalore University in 1977 and 1979.
• Later, she moved to the United Kingdom and completed her Diploma in Obstetrics and Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from the Royal Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons In Ireland.
• She did MRCOG and FRCOG from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London.
• She also holds a Master of Obstetrics & Gynaecology from the University of Liverpool, UK, in 1986.
• She has served as a teaching faculty at the King's College School of Medicine, London.
• Dr. Rao returned to India and established Bangalore's first assisted reproductive center, now Milann, in 1989.
• She is the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Infertility and Fetal Medicine and serves on the editorial board of various national and international journals and magazines.
• Dr. Rao has served as the President of various prestigious gynecology and assisted reproductive technology societies, such as the Federation of Obstetric & Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI) and the Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction (ISAR).
• Over 80 students have completed their post-doctoral Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine under the expert guidance of Dr. Kamini Rao.
