Dr Pradip Chakrabarti is one of the greatest transplant surgeons with 44 years of professional experience. Dr. Pradip Chakrabarti is one of the few surgeons who specialize in surgery for Renal Hyperparathyroidism, which cannot be treated with pharmacological therapy. He does autotransplantation and total parathyroidectomy in these circumstances. His specialization lies in Kidney Transplant, End-Stage Renal Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, Symptomatic Hydronephrosis, and Polycystic Kidney Disease. He has performed unique specialist surgeries, such as Pancreas Transplantation for ß-cell replacement in type I and some individuals with type II diabetes. Both open and laparoscopic donor nephrectomy. Renal allograft biopsies using real-time ultrasound scan guidance. Renal Transplantation both from live and cadaveric donors. Abdominal organ procurement (Liver, pancreas, kidneys) for transplantation from cadaveric (brain dead) donors. He received his medical degree from the Univ. of Calcutta. He completed a general surgery residency at Prince Charles Hosp. in Wales, where he was named a a fellow of the Royal Coll. of Surgeons. After completing a residency in renal and pancreatic transplantation at the Univ. of Pittsburgh (USA), he became an attending consultant surgeon and an instructor in surgery, joining the faculty.
