Dr. Purnendu Bhowmik

About Us

Dr. Purnendu Bhowmik is a general surgeon, laparoscopic surgeon, and proctologist with more than 18 years of professional experience. His specializations are complex gastrointestinal surgeries, laser surgeries for proctological conditions, and Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT) to treat varicose veins. He is also skilled in performing procedures such as hernia surgery, laparoscopic surgery for GERD, gallbladder surgery, and laser proctological surgeries. He completed his MBBS at R.G. Kar Medical Coll. and Hosp., Kolkata in 2006. He completed his MS in General Surgery at Calcutta National Medical Coll. in 2012. He holds fellowships in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS) and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery (FALS). He is also trained in laser proctology and laparoscopic hernia surgery. Dr. Bhowmik has published several research articles in reputed journals like the ‘Journal of Surgical Arts.’ He is a part of esteemed international and national organizations such as the American Coll. of Surgeons (ACS) and the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI).
