Dr. Rajiv Baijal

About Us

Dr. Rajiv Baijal is a Gastrointestinal Surgeon with more than 28 years of professional experience. He focuses on diseases of the liver, gallbladder, biliary tract, pancreas, gastrointestinal tract, and functional bowel diseases. He performs all kinds of diagnostic and therapeutic GI endoscopic procedures like Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP- CBD stone extraction, CBD stenting for palliation of pancreaticobiliary malignancy, pancreatic duct stone removal as well as stenting, stricture dilation, pseudocyst drainage, GI Motility studies-Esophageal, Endoscopic Ultrasonography and Single Balloon Enteroscopy, High-resolution manometry, etc. After completing his MBBS from Delhi Univ. in 1986, he also achieved an MD (Medicine) from Delhi Univ. in 1991 and a DM (Gastro) from the National Board of Examinations in 1999. He has worked as the Head of the Department of Gastroenterology, DNB guide, and appraiser for post-doctoral trainees in DNB (Gastroenterology) at Jagjivanram Hosp., Mumbai, since 2008. Six DNB candidates have received advanced training in DNB Gastroenterology under his guidance. He also did a Fellowship in Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) at Institut Paoli-Calmettes, France, High-Resolution Esophageal and Anorectal Manometry (HRM), and 24-hour pH-meter at the Royal Melbourne Hosp., Australia, and Single balloon enteroscopy at the Asian Inst. of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad. Dr. Baijal has served as associated with the Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG), Indian Association of Study of Liver (INASL), Association of Physicians of India (API), Indian Medical Association (IMA), Delhi Medical Association (DMA), and the Asian Neurogastroenterology and Motility Association (ANMA). He has written and presented scientific publications. He has 88 scientific publications to his credit in International and National journals.
