Dr. S. S. Praharaj is one of the well-well?recognized Neurosurgeon in South India region. He possesses over three decades of professional experience in the field, totaling 39 years. His extensive repertoire includes over 6000 Neurosurgical Operations, covering a wide range of complex cranial and spinal procedures. His specialization spans Microneurosurgery, Spinal Surgery and Instrumentation, Epilepsy Surgery, Skull Base Surgery, Craniofacial Reconstruction Surgery, and Critical Care Management of various neurosurgical conditions. He completed his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from G R Medical Coll., Gwalior. He completed his DNB in Neurosurgery from National Board of Examination. Dr. Praharaj has made significant contributions at prestigious institutions like All India Inst. of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi and NIMHANS in Bangalore, both in India and internationally. At NIMHANS, Bangalore, he has pioneered various neurosurgical techniques, including Cervical Laminoplasty, Anterior Cervical Plate and Screw Fixation, and Thoracolumbar Transpedicular Fixations. Active involvement in professional organizations such as the Neurological Society of India and Asian Congress of Neurosurgeons underscores his commitment to the field. Dr. Praharaj's scholarly endeavors encompass presentations and publications at national and international forums, earning him numerous accolades. Notably, he was selected as the "Neurosurgical Update for Young Neurosurgeons of Asia" at Osaka, Japan, in 1998. He is an active part of the Neurological Society of India, Neuro-Otological Society India, and the Asian Congress of Neurosurgeons.
