Dr. Sudheer Kumar Tyagi is a prominent Neuro-Spine Surgeon with more than 43 years of professional experience. He is skilled in all kinds of brain tumor surgeries, Anterior cervical Discectomy, Brain Aneurysm Clipping, Craniovertebral junction surgeries, Epilepsy Surgeries, Spinal Tumor Surgery, Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), etc. With an extensive track record exceeding 9000 successful neurological procedures, he has performed numerous Deep Brain Stimulation surgeries and ablative surgeries, showcasing his pioneering approach to treatment. Dr. Tyagi is credited with performing over 11,000 Microscopic Brain and Spine Surgeries. He is an an expert in spinal instrumentation at all levels, from the cervico-occipital to the lumbosacral regions. He pioneered the functional stereotactic surgery program at Apollo Hosp. in New Delhi and has performed a large number of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and ablative surgeries. Dr. Tyagi is the first surgeon in India to use the Image Fusion technique to localize targets in the deep parts of the brain for functional stereotactic surgeries. He is also known for his work in Frameless Stereotactic Navigation in cases of epilepsy caused by small lesions close to eloquent areas of the brain. Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) is another area in which he has performed the largest number of cases at the Apollo Hosp. in New Delhi. After completing his MBBS from the Univ. of Lucknow in 1989, he also achieved an MS in General Surgery from the Univ. of Lucknow in 1992 and an MCh in Neurosurgery from the All India Inst. of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi in 1997. Dr. Tyagi pursued specialized advanced training in neurovascular and skull base surgery at the clinical center in Ljubljana, Slovenia, followed by Stereotactic Functional Neurosurgery advanced training at St. Vincent Hosp., Sydney, and practical professional experience in Spinal Cord Stimulation at San Francisco, USA. He is actively involved in neurosurgical advanced training and research work at Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi. He is a part of the Delhi Neurological Association, Neurology Society of India, Indian Society of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (ISSFN), and Association of Spinal Surgeons of India.
