Dr. Suneeta Mittal

About Us

Dr. Suneeta Mittal is an eminent Obstetrician and Gynecologist with more than 43 years of professional experience. Notably, she played a pivotal role in formulating India's Emergency Contraception guidelines. She has also made significant contributions to national guidelines on Medical Abortion and the Rational use of Emergency Contraception. Dr. Mittal initiated the 12 by 12 Initiative, aimed at preventing Adolescent Anaemia with the ultimate goal of enhancing pregnancy safety. Her contributions include adapting the WHO Medical Eligibility Criteria Wheel for India and establishing Minimum Standards for the Mother Baby Friendly Hosp. Initiative in collaboration with the Government of India and Unicef. Dr. Mittal possesses advanced proficiency in minimal invasive endoscopic surgery and Robotic Surgery. She completed her MBBS in 1974 and MD in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 1977 from Lady Hardinge Medical Coll.. After that, she pursued DNB in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from National Board Examination, New Delhi, in 1981. She received MNAMS from National Academy of Medical Sciences. She also received Fellowships of the Royal Coll. of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG), Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FAMS), Fellowship of International Medical Sciences Academy (FIMSA), Fellowship of the International Coll. of Surgeons (FICLS), Fellowship of Indian Coll. of Maternal and Child Health (FICMCH), and Fellowship in the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FICOG). She is an active part of FOGSI Committee on Reproductive Endocrinology and Committee on Research, Indian Society of Perinatology & Reproductive Biology, and Indian Society for the Study of Reproduction & Fertility & Indian Society of Perinatology & Reproductive Biology.
