About Us
- With over 53 years of experience, renowned Pediatrician Prof. Dr. Sunit Chandra Singh has garnered international recognition for his expertise.
- His expertise lies in infectious disease, pneumonia, asthma, disorders of growth, emergency and intensive care, neurocritical care, adolescent health, etc.
- He pioneered India’s first Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and initiated the first post-doctoral DM courses in Pediatric Critical Care.
- His educational qualifications include an MBBS from Rajasthan University, Jaipur, India, 1971 and an MD (Pediatrics) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, 1976.
- Dr. Sunit also earned a Fellowship from the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (FIAP) in 1993, a Fellowship from the National Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS) in 2005, a Fellowship from the Indian Society Of Critical Care Medicine (FISCCM) in 2010, and a Fellowship of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM), 2011
- He received research grants from prestigious institutions, including the Indian Council of Medical Research, WHO, CCMRC, INCLEN, and Sweden.
- He is recognized among the world’s top 2% of medical scientists by Stanford University.
- He is extensively involved in research related to fluid-electrolytes, neurocritical care, acute asthma, and childhood pneumonia.
- Dr. Sunit has contributed to understanding fluid-electrolyte balance in newborns, bacterial meningitis, bronchiolitis, pneumonia, and septic shock.
- He has identified links between transplacental fluid overload neonatal jaundice and transient tachypnea of newborns.
- He has authored 440 peer-reviewed publications, 79 textbook chapters, and 11 books.
- He is the Associate Editor of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) and section editor of Rogers’ Textbook of Pediatric Intensive Care.
- He has held various leadership positions in Critical Care both internationally and nationally.
- Dr. Sunit is recognized with numerous awards, including ICMR’s Amrut-Mody Unichem Prize 2010, National Academy of Medical Sciences’ KL Wig Award 2013, Swasth Bharat Samman-2011, and Claris Critical Care Oration Award 2003.
- He is the recipient of lifetime achievement awards, medals, orations, and best paper awards.
- He is an active member of the American Pediatric Society, Indian Academy of Pediatrics, New York Academy of Sciences, National Neonatology Forum, Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine, Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), and National Academy of Medical Sciences (MNAMS).
