Dr. Yugal Kishore Mishra is a Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon with more than 43 years of professional experience. He has successfully performed over 19,000 open heart surgeries, showcasing specialization in various procedures, including minimally invasive cardiac surgery, port access approach for valve surgery, and Atrial septal defect (ASD) closure. His skills extend to complex procedures such as carotid artery endarterectomy, aortic aneurysms, Extracorporeal life support ECMO, cardiac arrhythmia surgery, and total arterial revascularization. Dr. Mishra is skilled in minimally invasive coronary artery bypass surgery on a beating heart, Bentall's operation, and Aortic arch and thoracic abdominal aortic repair, consistently achieving excellent outcomes. With over 500 successful robotic cardiac surgeries and 1000 Redo Cardiac Surgeries to his credit, Dr. Mishra demonstrates exceptional proficiency in advanced techniques. After completing his MBBS from SS Medical Coll. Rewa, MP, India, in 1981, he also achieved an MS (General Surgery) from SS Medical Coll. Rewa, MP India, in 1984, and a PhD (Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgery) from Bakulev Inst. of Cardiovascular Surgery, Moscow, Russia, 1991. He has played a pivotal role in the core Heart team that developed Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) at Fortis Escorts Heart Inst.. He has contributed significantly to Heart Transplantation and Ventricular Assist Device procedures. He achieved a Fellowship (Cardiovascular Surgery) at the Thoracic Centre from the Univ. Hosp. Uppsala, Sweden, and the Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons of India. He is actively involved in teaching and advanced training DNB students, sharing his expertise and knowledge. Dr. Mishra's reputation extends globally, with patients from various countries seeking his expertise. He has operated on patients from the USA, UK, Iraq, UAE, Oman, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Africa, and Central Asia. He has showcased his surgical excellence by performing Live cases in Thailand, Bangladesh, and Nepal workshops. Dr. Mishra is deeply invested in education, advanced training, and research. He has published over 150 scientific publications and has actively participated in over 200 international and national conferences as a lecturer. He is the president of the Indian Association of Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgeons of India and the Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons of India.
