Dr. Sukumar Mukherjee is an experienced doctor in internal medicine and rheumatology. He brings over 65 years of professional experience in general medicine and rheumatology. His expertise lies in the treatment of various medical conditions like: Arthritis Reactive arthritis Rheumatoid arthritis Osteoarthritis Septic arthritis He is known for his attention to care, for providing treatment of giant-cell arthritis joint infections and for performing procedures like arthrocentesis. He pursued his MBBS from Calcutta Univ., Kolkata, in 1959 and his MD in 1963. He was awarded fellowships from the Royal Coll. of Physicians, Edinburgh in 1983 and the Royal Coll. of Physicians, London in 1985. He has served as awarded several accolades, such as the Life Time Bangabishuan accolade by the government. West Bengal in 2014 and the Dhanvantari accolade in 2008. He has served as the Dean of the Indian Coll. of Physicians. He was a part of the Global Advisory Board for COVID-19 Response Policy in West Bengal during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also been active in research. He has articles published in well?recognized journals.
